Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
This entry will be in
English insyaAllah. About ummi and musics.
Growing up normally
as any other teenagers, me too are fond of music.
The different is,
either fanatic or not. And I’m obviously not. It’s just I have to listen to
something during study and do stuff like washing a full sink of dishes. And one
more different is, I did not memorized details of the singer. For example, I know
that Backstreets Boys have five members, but I did not remember the name. Same
goes for N’Sync, although most of their song that time I memorized (hihi).
My favorite’s
song/band? Quite a lot but I can name some that I still remembered. My genres
of interest are on love song and nasyeed. Previously, I like BSB, N'Sync, Richard marx, Scorpions, Bryan Adam, Raihan, Hijjaz, Linkin Park, and quite a lot more. Before I like a
song, I’ll go through the lyrics first.
And yes, it is quite
weird why linkin’ park is listed. Truthfully, I don’t know. Maybe because of
the lyrics. They have message, and the music is not so bad (I can’t listen to
Limpbizkit for example). The second latest album of linkin park is the best for
me, because it is a bit slow (other fan said it is the worst hihi).
It is quite weird
people knowing me, people say I’m a bit religious, during high school my
favourite class is Pendidikan Islam, wearing big hijab during my matriculation
till now, but listen to linkin park? I have no firm answer. As long as it didn’t
apart me from what I believe, didn’t change my attitude, I think it is fine.
Because I just like to hear the song and study the lyrics, I don’t go and buy
all LP’s stuff, going concert, yelling to parents, or become fanatic of them.
In fact I could guarantee, if any of their members happen to pass me by, I Won’t
go and ask for autograph because I know it won’t bring me any good, here or at
the hereafter.
Love song. I love
love song. I like Richard Marx, Bryan Adam, Mariah carey and a lot of old
school songs. But Alhamdulillah, my high school’s record is clean without any monkey-love
stories.
What I like to do is
analyze the lyrics. Believe it or not, during my secondary school,
matriculation and USM studies, I was often being a free-translator for song’s
lyrics. I explained what exactly the lyrics mean, line by line, or the whole
story of a song (according to my thought). Come to think of it, it is quite
meaningless act, but it somehow improves my English. Alhamdulillah.
Phenomenon nowadays
in liking music, is somehow scary.
First of all, along
with the Only-God-knows-what-you-cannot-find-on the Internet, gadget
technologies everything, teenagers, or even kids can obsessed to things in the
way that we couldn’t understand. If let say they like Justin Bieber, then all
of their stuff must be related to it. In short, it will be a financial burden
to the parent.
There’s one precious
thing that I’d learned from one of my friend, she said (me rephrase), “Muhammad
Al-Fatih is the great conqueror of Constantinople. We all know that. One thing
we should know more is, during his childhood, his parent decorate his room with
the map of Constantinople!”
His parent clearly knows
the direction of life of their son. What about us?
Trend that I see is a
room full of Ben10, Princess and what not. I’m not up to that yet, so I’m quite
afraid to say more. But InsyaAllah will do the best to counter the influences. This saying is a reminder to me too.
Am I out of topic now,
hehe?
The reason I write
about music basically is because I am cleaning off my music folder. And I intend
to delete all the songs that are not beneficial to my soul. Leaving only Quran
folder, love song (since now I have my lovely husband beside), nasyeed and my
LP(huh?).
In this holy
ramadhan, I hope this small act will lead to something.
Ameenn…

Woo wooo... this is really close to my heart: MUSIC... heheh...
it's not easy to give up ur interest esp when u are having it since u're small... mine is (or was?) music. I grew with music. And I wasnt really like nasheed BEFORE... bila dh jumpa hubby yg kaki nasheed...aduhai la dlm kereta kekadang dok 'bergadoh' jugak.hehe comel je...
but true.,true... nowadays, the trend is unbearable!
what do u think about introducing music to children? -in any kind. Do we have to STRICTLY restrain our kids from music? let's discuss about this :)
HAHAHa...indeed a great topic right..
Bergaduh yang tak tahan tu hehe..tp seronok la ada berebut2 kan..
InsyaAllah will think of second version of this topic, influence to children..
All the best my friend!
